26th April 2019- Weekly update

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back, we hope you all had a super Easter and made the most of the lovely weather!

We would also like to say a special hello and welcome to our newbies Albie and Annie who have started this term. We hope you will enjoy your time with us and look forward to getting to know you and your family.

This term we are focussing on numbers, shapes and colours. The children have been busy already making some Mr men and Little Miss’s for the board. This week we have started to look at 3D names for shapes. The children are superstars! A few wow moments have been given to some of the children who remembered and named a cuboid, cone, pyramid and cylinder! Absolutely amazing!

A huge thank you to Logan’s Daddy who has been busy putting up wooden numbers around the garden, and a big thank you to Josephine’s Grandad who made them. We have already observed child initiated games looking for the numbers. A great success!

PE starts back next Monday afternoon, please ensure your child has a named kit- white t-shirt, blue shorts and plimsolls. Thank you!

Our music session has moved to a Tuesday afternoon.

Forest school starts back next Wednesday/Thursday afternoon, please can you make sure your child has welly boots, leggings/tracky bottoms in their bag and a thin fleece. You know what the weather is like? very unpredictable and this way if it turns chilly they have the correct clothing. Please can you make sure all permission slips for Forest school are returned before Wednesday. Thank you.  Congratulations to Selina our Forest School Supervisor who passed her mini bus test! Once all the paperwork has been received we will be making our way to Withymead Nature Reserve, our big Forest School for our sessions. Can’t wait!

Dates and Reminders

  • The preschool is helping at the Hairy legs on Sunday 12th May. We have the bouncy castle at the event and need helpers on the day. We need a volunteer with a big/estate car to pick up/drop back and set it up in Sheepcote field. Please let staff know if you’re able to help, a sign-up sheet will be going up soon.
  • Next week we are looking a squares, red and cube shapes, get the children to see if they can identify any around the home.

Have a lovely weekend

Kind regards
