3rd May 2019-Weekly Update

Dear Parents and Carers

Just so you are aware we’ve have a couple of incidents of sickness this week. Yuk! Please remember to follow our health policy of 48 hours after the last bout of sickness and please can you let us know if your child’s been sick. Thank you.

What a busy week we’ve had!

Our adult led focus this week has been Mr Strong and Little Miss birthday. Lots of small brush painting and colouring! We have continued to look at 3D shapes during group time and the children are amazing. They are starting to recognise shapes all around them, naming them correctly and describing their individual features.

In PE this week we had an obstacle course. Climbing, jumping, balancing and rolling. The children are getting very good at changing independently after PE (even if their t-shirts or trousers are around the wrong way) they are doing it themselves! Brilliant!

In our music session this week we had musical bumps and musical statues and choosing to sing their favourite song.

Forest school- this week we went to Big Forest School at Withymead on the mini bus. It was such great fun to be back there again. The children learnt some new rules about our fire circle and we practised them again on Thursday. A note from Selina ‘Please make sure the children have welly boots even if rains not forecasted. They help protect the children against the nettles. They also need an extra pair of leggings/tracky bottoms, a long sleeved top and a warm fleece. Thank you.’

Friday we had lots of outside play and stories.

Dates and Reminders

  • The sign-up sheet for the hairy legs is on the easel outside preschool, please volunteer to help, so far we have just one parent.
  • As you all know we are due to close in July so we are starting to sort and dispose of all the resources. We are starting with broken older toys first. How you can help, we need each family to take a black bin liner of rubbish home. If you see a bag at the front of the building, please feel free to help yourselves and take it away. Thank you for all your help and support.
  • As the weather is getting warmer please ensure your child has a named hat and drinks bottle thank you.

Charlotte Smith will be leaving us at half term to take on a new role at a local nursery. Thank you Charlotte you have been a real asset to preschool and we will miss you. We will be having a Topsy Turvy Day with a Goodbye Tea Party on Friday 24th May for Charlotte. More details to follow, if you would like to join us wishing Charlotte a fond farewell please speak to Debbie or Denise.

Next week we are looking at circles and cylindrical shapes, its Mr Happy and little Miss sunshine.

Don’t forget its bank holiday on Monday, we will see you on Tuesday.

Kind regards

Preschool staff
