Dear Parents and Carers
What a wonderful week we’ve had.
Our adult led focus was rectangles and Mr Grumpy. The children used potatoes cut into a rectangle shape to print with. The children decorated with sticker eyes and added a grumpy smile. Lots of talk about grumpiness and who is grumpy and who is happy. The children also made a rocket using rectangle shapes. Zoom zoom zoom!
In Pe this week we played ring games, I was very proud of the child who put his hand up to volunteer to be the farmer this week. He has refused on many occasions. This was the first time! In group time we have been practising taking off and putting on our shoes and coats. Most children can do this just finding the zips a little tricky. Well done everyone!
In music session this week we played ‘what’s in the box.’ We have also been practising clapping out the syllables in our name.
We had Little Forest School this week, making shelters to keep us cool in the hot weather. We made stick men and friendship bracelets. A message from Selina ‘The children have had great fun building shelters with tarp, making stickmen then using them to act out the story. Friendship bracelets were very popular with one child making one for each member of his family. We are organising a Forest School trip before the end of term. It is on Wednesday 17th July in the afternoon. Look out for a permission letter which will be going out after half term.
On Friday we had our Topsy Turvy day. What great fun, we had snack on the floor, ate lunch outside, changed our names round and generally had a very Topsy Turvy day. Well done to the children you were all amazing especially the little ones who did find it hard at times.
We also had a special Topsy turvy tea party for our lovely Charlotte who is leaving us. She was a very highly valued member of the team and we will miss her and wish her lots of luck in her new job. Lorna and our bank staff Hilary and Jane are covering her sessions until the end of term. Good luck Charlotte on running the Edinburgh marathon on Sunday. You’ll smash it, wow…what an achievement!
Thank you for all the fruit and snack donations this term, you have been amazing!
Thank you to the committee who have been quietly sorting and clearing our sheds, don’t forget if you see a bag of rubbish please take it home to put in the bin. Thank you.
